Therefore, I wish to meet with senior marketing and business executives to discuss industry trends, obtain feedback about my suitability for various types of positions and opportunities that may arise in the future. Follow Up Phone Calls

Follow up is the key to utilising the new network of people you have communicated with through your thank you letters.

A phone call to an individual is easier following a thank you letter. You wrote to them and they remembered you as they replied, even with no job interview offer. This person is more likely to take your call and they should be impressed at your tenacity.

The purpose of your call is to ask for a meeting to present yourself. Change in business occurs quickly. There is always something happening in organisations so never assume a ‘no’ job answer today means just that in a month or two.

Always ask for a person by name. A personal caller is given preference and is more likely to get through than asking for a person by their title.

Follow up letters are good too and very likely to get the right result but of course they are slower than phone calls. The key to utilising this new network of people by follow up letter is that if an opportunity arises you are most likely to be remembered.
